SBS #3: HEARTBEAT 2/14/14

Drumspyders inspiration is the the creation of rhythm with the human hand and the primal connection between drummer and dancer. An expert percussionist of many years training, he is immersed in rhythm and all its modalities, from the hypnotic, trance-inducing pulse to the energy of ecstatic dance. He works in a broad range of tempos - ranging from slinky, sexy downtempo through funky mid-tempo whomp to high-energy tribal house. Bringing the drums to bellydancers, yogis and the emerging transformational festival culture, Drumspyder weaves the rhythms and tonalities of the Mediterranean and live Arabic percussion into his own style of electronic dance fusion, distinguished by its funky, danceable grooves and rhythmically intense, percussion-driven sound. 2013 saw Drumspyder appearing at festivals throughout North America, including Luminosity, Photosynthesis, Gratifly, Shambhala and MEME, as well as the Hadra Trance Festival in France.

Melissa Longfellow has been a yogi and a seeker ever since she can remember. After several years of being unconscious of her body, she sought out yoga for healing and serendipitously arrived into a daily yoga practice with Baptiste Yoga founder, Baron Baptiste. In the months that followed, she watched in awe as her body healed, her life transformed and her heart opened. After moving from Boston to San Diego to Bellingham WA, she opened 3 OMS YOGA in 2009. She is deeply inspired by yoga and the life practice of it, as well as the pursuit of surf, sun, snowboarding, playing with her 2 boys, painting murals, making amazing green smoothies and embracing my family legacies of both Maya culture and cosmology and the teachings of JC, Buddha and many other wise ones. When you take a class with Melissa, you will feel her sincere love and enthusiasm for yoga and for you!
